Personal project

Challenge

As a result of a recession, two wars, and national other priorities, unfortunately, NASA found itself in difficult times. Seeking funding from private investors seemed to spawn a new race from venture firms like Space X and Amazon. However, it is space travel that might actually present solutions to our most critical existential threats. The challenge was to create an interactive data story about the long term survival of the human race advocating space colonization as a possible solution.

Results

Utilizing a series of slides and various chart types, the user is taken through time, population growth, overpopulation, and the resulting pollution. Then the user is presented with the advancements of science and how space travel has improved our lives.

Vivint

Goal

Vivint is a smart-home tech, home security, home automation, wireless internet, and solar power services. Founded in 1997 as APX Alarm Security Solutions Inc. A subsidiary of the Blackstone Group Headquarters in Provo, Utah. Over the past ten years, it has experienced explosive growth, but that also comes at a cost to its employees.

Results

This infographic presents both employee POV’s (mostly pain points) and hot the CEO Todd Peterson responded in a visually pleasing way. An infographic is an effective means of presenting UX issues in a way in which audiences can immediately digest and follow.
